Donate Your Gently-Used Clothing and Shoes

Your donation of new or gently-used clothing and shoes, any size, go a long way in helping Ronald McDonald House. Drop your gently used donations in the [white /yellow] drop boxes located throughout Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, and surrounding areas, and Ronald McDonald House South Texas will receive a portion of the proceeds. You can also drop unused clothing and shoe donations at our Interim House located at 5525 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, TX.

Wish List

You can make an extraordinary difference with ordinary, everyday items to keep our programs running and help families feel at home. Our Wish List generally includes basic staples, food, paper goods, office supplies, etc., as well as personal hygiene items for our visiting families. Items on the list can be purchased for our Ronald McDonald House in Corpus Christi or the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located in South Texas Health System Children’s Edinburg or Valley Baptist Health System Harlingen.

Family Activity Donation

We welcome the donation of new games, puzzles, coloring books and crayons, activity books, or craft items for our families to enjoy. Items can be shipped or delivered to our Interim House located at 5525 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408.

Cooking con Amor: Chef-led Meals from the Heart
Cooking con Amor is the next chapter of our traditional and beloved Share-A-Meal program. Led and coordinated by our professional chef, volunteer groups provide the ingredients and manpower (10-12 volunteers) to help prepare and serve fresh, nourishing meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House South Texas. By sharing the gift of a home-cooked meal, volunteers provide comfort, care, and a reminder that no family faces their child’s medical journey alone. Gather your family, friends, coworkers, or organization and join us in the kitchen to make a meaningful difference, one meal at a time.

Details: Groups of 10-12 can provide and prepare a meal for our families; children 10 years and up may participate with adult supervision. Groups usually prepare meals for about 50-60 people. Meals may also be catered.

Vehicle Donation
You may donate a car, truck, motorcycle, RV, or boat—operational or not—to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Texas. The program is managed in partnership with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services).

How the Process Works

Step 1: Contact CARS — Call (855) 227-7435 (855-CarsHelp) or fill out the online form at RMHC Car Easy.
Step 2: Free towing — A towing company picks up your vehicle, running or not, at no cost to you. You will need a current and clear vehicle title.
Step 3: Auction — The vehicle is hauled away and sold at auction, typically within 4 to 12 weeks.
Step 4: Proceeds and tax receipt — The proceeds go directly to RHMC South Texas as designated and you receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Tax Deduction Details

$500 or less: If your car sells for $500 or less, you will receive a receipt/letter via mail within 30 days of the sale.
Over $500: If it sells for more than $500, you will be issued an IRS Form 1098-C stating the gross proceeds amount, which serves as your deduction limit.
Over $5,000: If claiming a value higher than $5,000, you will need to fill out IRS Form 8283.
